2026-11-04

NaCTeM is pleased to host Prof. Yongjae Lee, Associate Professor at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) and Chief Scientist of LinqAlpha AI Lab, who will give a seminar entitled Rethinking Investing in the Era of AI: From Financial Evidence to Reliable Decisions on Wednesday 11th November 2026 from 15:00 to 16:00 in LG.011, Manchester Institute of Biotechnology (MIB). The seminar will also be available online via Microsoft Teams.

The talk will examine how AI is turning investing from isolated prediction tasks into connected workflows that interpret evidence and support decisions, and will discuss how financial AI systems should be evaluated by how faithfully they use evidence and how reliably they support investment decisions. Prof. Lee co-organised the 11th Workshop on Financial Technology and Natural Language Processing (FinNLP) at EMNLP 2026 with members of the Centre.

All are welcome to attend. For the Teams link or any enquiries, please contact Jimin Huang (jimin.huang@postgrad.manchester.ac.uk). More information is on the seminar page.
