Part of the article reports on a talk given by Prof. Sophia Ananiadou, director of NaCTeM, at Stanford University, entitled From Emotions to Explanations: Building Trustworthy AI for Mental Health. The talk traced the evolution of emotion-aware AI for mental health, ranging from early sentiment models to richer systems capable of capturing mood and psychological nuances. During the talk, Prof. Ananiadou mentioned research carried out by members of the NaCTeM team described in the paper MentaLLaMA: Interpretable Mental Health Analysis on Social Media with Large Language Models by Kailai Yang, Tianlin Zhang, Ziyan Kuang, Qianqian Xie, Jimin Huang and Sophia Ananiadou, which was presented at the ACM Web Conference 2024.
