GenAI x FinLegal @ EMNLP 2025: Advancing AI Innovation in Finance and Law

At EMNLP 2025, the National Centre for Text Mining (NaCTeM co-hosted the GenAI x FinLegal Night, an engaging event exploring how Generative AI and agentic systems are transforming the future of FinTech and LegalTech.
Organised in collaboration with The Fin AI and DeepKin, and led by Professor Sophia Ananiadou and Jimin Huang, the reception brought together 39 attendees from both academia and industry. Participants exchanged ideas on how LLMs are reshaping compliance, risk management, and decision intelligence, fostering dialogue between research and practice.
The lively discussions highlighted new opportunities for collaboration and responsible innovation in applying AI to complex, high-stakes domains.
NaCTeM is proud to have led this initiative, advancing our mission to apply text mining and natural language processing for financial, legal, and societal impact.
