EC Independent Text and Data Mining Expert Group Report recommends changes to EU copyright law

A new report produced by the EC Independent Expert Group Report on Text and Data Mining (TDM) highlights the need to reconsider and reform the EU's legal framework with regard to copyright and database protection in order to support the international competitiveness of Europe's reseach efforts within the field.
Recommendations are made for changes to be made to EU copyright law, including the introduction of an interim exception for TDM.
