Text Mining session at ALPSP International Conference

Prof. Sophia Ananiadou, director of NaCTeM, will chair a session entitled Text mining: challenges and opportunities at the ALPSP International Conference, to be held from 11th - 13th September in the West Midlands, UK. ALPSP, the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers, is the international association for nonprofit publishers and those who work with them.
The session chaired by Prof. Ananiadou will focus on how the publishing industry can support research using text mining tools. It will also explore the costs and benefits of such tools, and highlight the reasons why publishers should be paying attention to them. The session will feature talks from the following speakers:
- John McNaught, Deputy Director, NaCTeM
- Cameron Neylon, Advocacy Director, PLoS
- Anita de Waard, Disruptive Technologies Director, Elsevier Labs
- Stefan Decker, Director, Digital Enterprise Research Institute and Professor of Digital Enterprise, National University of Ireland, Galway
