UK research funding body recognises the potential of NLP with the help of META-NET's Vision Paper

The UK's Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) recently conducted a review of which subject areas to 'grow', 'maintain' or 'reduce', in terms of the proportion of the total EPSRC portfolio. They decided to maintain the current level of funding for Natural Language Processing (NLP), and one of the pieces of evidence cited in support of this was the META-NET vision paper.
META-NET, in which NaCTeM is involved, is a Network of Excellence dedicated to fostering the technological foundations of a multilingual European information society.
