A 44-year-old farmer complained blurred vision and disturbance of recent memory. During his driving car traffic accident happened due to his right homonymous hemianopsia. On the 1st admission, neurological examination revealed choked disc(1 D.), hemianopsia, memory disturbance, dyscalculia, dyslexia and dysgraphia. The angiograms showed feeding arteries from left middle cerebral artery and posterior cerebral artery. Tumor vessels looked like cork-screw in the arterial phase and homogeneous tumor shadow was depicted in late venous phase. Contrast enhancement CT scan revealed a nodular homogeneous high dense lesion on the occipital region. Hemorrhage during every craniotomy was too much to remove and at last metastasized to left II rib and right VIII rib and right radius. Their histological examination reveals numerous endothelial-lined vascular channels and atypia of tumor cells with mitoses. Silver impregnation demonstrates networks of reticulum fibers surrounding the capillaries and tumor cells. Hemangiopericytoma in meninges forms entity and our case reports the WHO classification. Total removal should have to be done once for all by means of LASER (light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation).

We report a 55-year-old woman with optic nerve Aspergillosis. Aspergillus is an ubiquitous airborne saprophytic fungus. Inhaled Aspergillus conidia are normally eliminated in the immunocompetent host by innate immune mechanisms; however, in immunosuppressed patients, they can cause disease. The woman had a past medical history of hypertension and migraines. She presented 1 year prior to death with a new onset headache behind the left eye and later developed blurred vision and scotoma. A left temporal artery biopsy was negative for giant cell arteritis. One month prior to the current admission, she had an MRI showing optic nerve thickening with no other findings. Because of the visual loss and a positive antinuclear antibody test, she was given a trial of high dose steroids and while it significantly improved her headache, her vision did not improve. At autopsy, the left optic nerve at the level of the cavernous sinus and extending into the optic chiasm was enlarged in diameter and there was a 1.3 cm firm nodule surrounding the left optic nerve. Histologically, an abscess surrounded and involved the left optic nerve. Acute angle branching, angioinvasive fungal hyphae were identified on Grocott's methenamine silver stained sections, consistent with Aspergillus spp. No gross or microscopic evidence of systemic vasculitis or infection was identified in the body. The literature on optic nerve Aspergillosis is reviewed.

Inadvertent inhalation of various volatile organic compounds during industrial processes, such as coal and metal mining, metal manufacturing, paper and pulp industry, food processing, petroleum refining, and concrete and chemical industries, has caused an adverse effect on human health. In particular, exposure to trimethylamine (TMA), a fishy odor poisonous gas, resulted in numerous health hazards such as neurotoxicity, irritation in eyes, nose, skin, and throat, blurred vision, and many more. According to the environmental protection agency, TMA in the level of 0.10 ppm is generally considered as safe, and excess dose results in "trimethylaminuria" or "fish odor syndrome." In order to avoid the health hazards associated with the inhalation of TMA, there is an urge to design a sensor for TMA detection even at low levels for use in food-processing industries, medical diagnosis, and environment. In this report, for the first time, we have developed a TMA sensor fabric using a sequential self-assembly process from silver-incorporated glycolipids. Formation of self-assembled supramolecular architecture, interaction of the assembled structure with the cotton fabric, and sensing mechanism were completely investigated with the help of various instrumental methods. To our surprise, the developed fabric displayed a transient response for 1-500 ppm of TMA and a stable response toward 100 ppm of TMA for 15 days. We believe that the reported flexible TMA sensor fabrics developed via the sequential self-assembly process hold great promise for various innovative applications in environment, healthcare, medicine, and biology.
