A 14-year-old boy developed group JK corynebacteria
sepsis
and a generalized erythematous macular and papular skin eruption following chemotherapy for relapse of acute lymphocytic leukemia. Lesional skin biopsy demonstrated effacement of eccrine glands by numerous pleomorphic gram-positive bacilli, morphologically consistent with Corynebacterium and confirmed by culture.
