Therapeutic effects of a minor tranquilizer (from the group of benzodiazepines) tranxene were studied in patients presenting with psychoemotional disorders in the presence of the onset moderately severe atherosclerotic dyscirculatory encephalopathy. The patients derived apparent benefit from the treatment administered as per subjective as well as objective evidence: the levels of hypochondria, depression, hysterioidness, psychoasthenicity, got significantly decreased, with positive changes being recordable in EEG as well as REG. The results obtained allow tranxene to be recommended for use in geriatric practice in patients presenting with cerebral atherosclerosis accompanied by psychoemotional disorders.

A mode is proposed of treatment of chronic cerebrovascular disorders, such as initial manifestations of cerebral blood supply insufficiency (IMBSI) and dyscirculatory encephalopathy (DE) stage I-II in hypertensive disease, involving the use of laser puncture and microclimate of biotron. All patients (n = 162) were exposed to laser puncture (10-12 procedures). Laser puncture treatments were devised according to classical approaches of reflexotherapy, using determinants of electropuncture diagnostic method by Riodoraku. The treatments were carried out with the aid of infrared portable laser "Biomed-001". IMBSI patients presenting with vegetovascular dystonia and about 70% of IMBSI patients presenting with hypertensive disease derived benefit from a course of laser puncture, as evidenced by REG, EEG, acupuncture diagnosis, iridodiagnosis according. In DE stage I-II patients and about 30% IMBSI patients presenting with hypertensive disease good therapeutic effect occurred after treatment in a ward with a stable microclimate of biotron. The proposed method can be used for treating chronic cerebrovascular disorders and administering stroke prophylaxis.

Studies made in 208 patients with discirculatory encephalopathy using clinical and neuropsychological tests, apparatus (REG, ECG, EEG, Doppler sonography) and laboratory (coagulogramme) methods showed the prescription of drug preparations from ginkgo extract to be a worth-while exercise likely to benefit the patient during different stages of his/her affection. Positive time-related course was recordable of change in elastic and tonic characteristics of vessels, of bioelectric brain activity, emotional and behavioral, cognitive and mnestic features. The above-mentioned drugs will, we believe, help in developing new options for the outpatient, hospital, and rehabilitative stage of managing a patient. Potentiation of the positive action of ginkgo preparations showed up when being combined with a complex of components of the tricarboxylic acid cycle.

The results of clinical and functional (eyeground ohtalmoscopy, electro- and rheoencephalography) methods of observation of patients with traumatic encephalopathy (n=367) from which 283 have lived in controlled territories after Chernobyl accident and 84-inhabitants from uncontrolled territories have been analyzed in the article. It was revealed, that residence of patients with traumatic encephalopathy on radiation ecologically controlled territory leads to more significant changes of bioelectric activity of the brain, brain haemodynamics, etc. Used methods (EEG, REG, eyeground ohtalmoscopy) are considerably informative for the control over efficiency of used medical or rehabilitation actions.
