Trichomonas vaginalis is a flagellate protozoon which in women commonly causes vaginal itching; burning, and a frothy, offensive and seropurulent yellowish discharge. Incidence of infection in women varies from 13 to 60%, and is highest during pregnancy because of excess estrogens and in women with poor hygiene or with vaginitis. In men, the incidence ranges from 9 to 37% of persons with urethral discharge. This study presents the results of the use of a single dose treatment of Trichomonas vaginitis with 2.0 gm Tinidazole. 350 women with vaginal discharge from the Gynecology Dept. of Cairo University hospitals were studied. Microscopic study of the discharge revealed T. vaginalis in 103 cases (aged 17 to 48 years). Majority of the clinical complaints (pruritus vulvae; soreness; sense of fullness in vagina and
dysuria
) disappeared in all cases after administration of 2.0 gm single dose of Tinidazole. Discharge; dyspareunia and soreness or pain at vulval interoitus disappeared in about 2/3 of cases; improved in about 1/4 and persisted in less than 8% (failure in these cases was attributed to other causes such as cervical erosion; bacterial infections; hormonal or other pathologic lesions in the internal genitalia). Mild gastrointestinal reaction (nausea and vomiting) were observed in 5 cases and transient
urticaria
in 1 case.

We evaluated the effectiveness and side effects of long-term administration of terodiline hydrochloride in patients with chief complaints of pollakisuria or incontinence or both due to unstable bladder or neurogenic bladder associated with uninhibited contraction. The dose was 24 mg once daily. The symptoms such as pollakisuria and incontinence improved in 31 out of 41 patients (76%). Mild side effects were observed in 12 out of 47 patients (26%), which were thirst, dizziness,
dysuria
,
urticaria
and gastrointestinal symptoms. An increasing tendency of both maximum desire to void and compliance (p less than 0.10), and significant difference in maximum static pressure (p less than 0.05) were observed on urodynamic examinations before and after administration of this medicine. The results obtained from this study suggest that terodiline hydrochloride may be greatly recommended for patients with such symptoms as pollakisuria and incontinence.

Strongyloides stercoralis
is a soil-transmitted helminth (STH) widespread in various part of the world. A 78-yr-old peasant diabetic female from Mazandaran Province northern Iran, was admitted to Infection Department of the Razi Hospital in city of Qaemshahr, north of Iran complaining about abdominal skin rash, pruritus, itching, anorexia, nausea, vomiting,
dysuria
and cough. This patient had cutaneous migration effects of
S. stercoralis
larvae in her abdominal skin (larva currents and
urticaria
). Lung CT without contrast demonstrate s bilateral diffuse ground glass opacity draws attention. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy revealed gastro esophageal reflux with antral gastritis. Duodenal endoscopy showed unusual mucosa and a biopsy from it sent to the pathology laboratory. Histopathology of duodenal bulb and duodenum biopsy showed mild villous atrophy and
S. stercoralis
infection. The patient was treated with albendazole and clinical sings improved completely after treatment. Strongyloidiasis should be carefully considered by clinicians who practice in endemic areas. Clinicians must keep a high level of skepticism for patients from endemic area.
