The rare case of a meningioma with pulmonary metastases in a dog is described. Clinically, the ten-year-old boxer bitch showed generalized seizures,
strabismus
and deficient proprioception. The post-mortem examination revealed a basically localized meningeal tumor, having the light- and electron-microscopic appearance of a malignant meningotheliomatous meningioma. Immunohistochemically, the tumor cells did not show any positive reaction with antibodies to GFAP, S-100 protein, NSE, vimentin, cytokeratin, desmin, and von Willebrand factor (
factor VIII
related antigen). Immunohistochemical examination of seven other canine meningiomas showed an identical pattern. The results and the relevant literature are discussed.

A 12-year-old hemophilic boy suffered from secondary glaucoma in his right eye due to total hyphema following trauma. An emergency operation was performed to evacuate the hyphema under a tight anti-hemophilic treatment. A careful postoperative treatment with
factor VIII
concentrate, antiglaucomatous drugs and aminocaproic acid was administered. Intraocular pressure returned to normal and remained so during the four months follow-up period. Visual acuity returned to 6/9 and there was no rebleeding into the anterior chamber. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first reported case of traumatic hyphema and of an operation to wash this hyphema in a hemophiliac. The dilemma of management of such a case is discussed.

Intraosseous hemophilic pseudotumor involving the orbit has not been described previously. A 14-year-old white male presented with a rapidly progressive, expansile right orbital mass consisting of hematoma contained within bony cortex. Computerized tomography revealed findings consistent with intraosseous hemophilic pseudotumor. The patient responded to conservative therapy of
factor VIII
replacement.

Two cases of cytomegalovirus retinitis in pediatric acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) are described. The first case was a 7-month-old infant who received an HIV-infected blood transfusion in 1983. The infant was treated with specific anti-cytomegalovirus immunoglobulin. The second case was an 8-year-old hemophiliac child who received HIV-infected
factor VIII
concentrates. Intravenous ganciclovir therapy resulted in marked improvement of ocular lesions. This is, to our best knowledge, the first report of pediatric AIDS-induced retinopathy resulting from postnatal intravenous causes.

Orbital subperiosteal hemorrhage may develop from the orbital extension of a subgaleal hemorrhage and threaten vision. This article describes the case of a patient with
factor VIII
and factor XII deficiency who had a subgaleal hemorrhage with orbital extension and optic nerve compression following head trauma.
