Posterior segment anomalies are rare features of the oculoauriculovertebral complex. Our patient had hemifacial microsomia with an optic nerve hypoplasia in one eye and an optic nerve coloboma in the other eye. The optic nerve hypoplasia was ipsilateral to the side with hemifacial microsomia and microtia.

Posterior tenectomy of the superior oblique tendon can be difficult, particularly for inexperienced surgeons, due to problems in visualization and anatomic peculiarities. Trypan blue can be used to stain the superior oblique tendon for easy identification and delineation of it at its insertion, making the current surgical technique less difficult.

Posterior retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is unusual in its atypical features and its aggressive, rapidly progressive course. It is more difficult to recognize and to treat, with many of these eyes progressing to retinal detachment despite multiple treatments with laser or cryotherapy. The authors present a case of aggressive posterior ROP refractory to multiple laser treatment. This patient was successfully treated with intravitreal bevacizumab, but required repeat treatment 4 months later. The second injection with bevacizumab was followed by progression to retinal detachment requiring surgery. The patient remains stable after surgery.

Posterior subtenon injections of steroidal drugs are commonly used to treat various chorioretinal inflammatory diseases. Subsequent strabismus is rare, but it is associated with severe visual disturbance when present. We report a case of simultaneous bilateral inferior oblique muscle paresis in a 60-year-old man who developed it after receiving intravitreal injections of bevacizumab and posterior subtenon injections of triamcinolone acetonide for the treatment of diabetic macular edema. The patient complained of excessive pain during the injections, which were performed at the 6 o'clock position in both eyes. According to the literature, inferior oblique muscle paresis after posterior subtenon injections is rare. This complication may be prevented by proper selection of the injection site and paying attention to any unusual patient complaints during the procedure.

Turner syndrome is a common sex chromosome disorder affecting females. The disorder is caused by a partial loss, complete absence, or structural abnormality of one X chromosome. The clinical presentation is broad and ranges from the classic phenotype to minimal clinical manifestations. Ocular abnormalities associated with the syndrome are common. Reports describing abnormal eye features in individuals with Turner syndrome generally involve refractive errors (myopia or hyperopia), strabismus, and external or anterior segment abnormalities including hypertelorism, epicanthal folds, and ptosis. Posterior ocular segment anomalies involving the optic nerve and retina in Turner syndrome have been rarely reported. We report a rare presentation of an 11-year-old female with Turner syndrome and unilateral morning glory disc anomaly.
