Results are reported of an investigation of the hypothalamo-pituitary-ovarian-adrenal system in 51 women suffering of Itsenko-Cushing disease, primary
obesity
and menopausal syndrome. It was found that with onset of the menopause there occurs an increase of the concentration of lutropin, follitropin, testosterone and a reduction of the level of estradiol as in the control group. At the same time the level of prolactin and cortisol was increased as compared with the control group.
