The hysterosonography allows evaluation of the endometrial cavity by endouterine administration of sterile physiologic solution. We wanted to assess the role of the hysterosonography and the transvaginal ultrasonography in asymptomatic women in post-menopause in combination with progesterone test. and treated with Tamoxiphen were subjected to transvaginal sonography by endometrial depth of 4 mm we used progesterone test. -so it was used by 5 mm and over When bleeding occurred we performed abrasio probatoria separata The hysterosonography was used as additional method for clearing and determining of some polyps and very small lesions. The sensitivity of the transvaginal sonography was compared with the hysterosonography and was nearly the same--91% resp. 94%. The specificity was 31% for the transvaginal sonography. The combining of the transvaginal sonography and hysterosonography increased the sensitivity up to 96% and the specificity up to 98%. The hysterosonography can be additional method for diagnose of focal lesions, because of the good shape and forms of the lesions, especially in some risk groups receiving Tamoxiphen, with diabetes mellitus, blood hypertension and

, smoking cessation and cognitive impairment. Proof of pharmacological action of AVE1625 in the brain can be given by antagonising the effects of
delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol
(THC), a CB1/CB2 agonist. Inhibition of THC-induced effects by AVE1625 was observed on Visual Analogue Scales 'alertness', 'feeling high', 'external perception', 'body sway' and 'heart rate'. Even the lowest dose of AVE1625 20 mg inhibited most of THC-induced effects. AVE1625 did not have any effect on psychological and behavioural parameters or heart rate by itself. After THC and AVE1625 administration, changes on electroencephalography were observed. This study shows a useful method for studying the effects of CB1 antagonists. AVE1625 penetrates the brain and antagonises THC-induced effects with doses at or above 20 mg.

Fatty acids ethanolamides (FAEs) are a family of lipid mediators. A member of this family, anandamide, is an endogenous ligand for cannabinoid receptors targeted by the marijuana constituent Delta-

. Anandamide is now established as a brain endocannabinoid messenger and multiple roles for other FAEs have also been proposed. One emerging function of these lipid mediators is the regulation of feeding behavior and body weight. Anandamide causes overeating in rats because of its ability to activate cannabinoid receptors. This action is of therapeutic relevance: cannabinoid agonists are currently used to alleviate anorexia and nausea in AIDS patients, whereas the cannabinoid receptor CB1 antagonist rimonabant was recently found to be effective in the treatment of
obesity
. In contrast to anandamide, its monounsatured analogue, oleoylethanolamide (OEA), decreases food intake and body weight gain through a cannabinoid receptor-independent mechanism. In the rat proximal small intestine, endogenous OEA levels decrease during fasting and increase upon refeeding. These periprandial fluctuations may represent a previously undescribed signal that modulates between-meal satiety. Pharmacological studies have shown, indeed, that, as a drug, OEA produces profound anorexiant effects in rats and mice, due to selective prolongation of feeding latency and post-meal interval. The effects observed after chronic administration of OEA to different animal models of
obesity
, clearly indicate that inhibition of eating is not the only mechanism by which OEA can control energy metabolism. In fact, stimulation of lipolysis is responsible for the reduced fat mass and decrease of body weight gain observed in these models. Although OEA may bind to multiple receptors, several lines of evidence indicate that peripheral PPAR-alpha mediates the effects of this compound. The pathophysiological significance of OEA in the regulation of eating and body weight is further evidenced by preliminary clinical results, showing altered levels of this molecule in the cerebrospinal fluid and plasma of subjects recovered from eating disorders. These results complete previous observation on anandamide content, which resulted altered in plasma of women affected by anorexia nervosa or binge-eating disorder.

Cannabinoid receptors, endocannabinoids and the enzymes that catalyze its synthesis and degradation constitute the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which plays an important role in the cardiovascular system. In vivo experiments with rats have demonstrated the action of anandamide and 2-AG on the development of atherosclerotic plaque, as well as an effect on heart rate, blood pressure, vasoactivity and energy metabolism (action in dyslipidemia and
obesity
). Recent studies with an antagonist of CB1 receptors showed that the modulation of ECS can play an important role in reducing cardiovascular risk in obese and dyslipidemic patients. Similarly, studies in rats have demonstrated the action of CB2 receptors in adhesion, migration, proliferation and function of immune cells involved in the atherosclerotic plaque formation process. The evidence so far gathered shows that the modulation of ECS (as agonism or antagonism of its receptors) is an enormous potential field for research and intervention in multiple areas of human pathophysiology. The development of selective drugs for the CB1 and CB2 receptors may open a door to new therapeutic regimens.This review article aims to address the key findings and evidences on the modulation of ECS, in order to prospect future forms of therapeutic intervention at the cardiovascular level. Approximately one third of patients diagnosed with schizophrenia do not achieve adequate symptom control with standard antipsychotic drugs (APs). Some of these may prove responsive to clozapine, but non-response to APs remains an important clinical problem and cause of increased health care costs. In a significant proportion of patients, schizophrenia is associated with natural and iatrogenic metabolic abnormalities (

, dyslipidaemia, impaired glucose tolerance or type 2 diabetes mellitus), hyperadrenalism and an exaggerated HPA response to stress, and chronic systemic inflammation. The endocannabinoid system (ECS) in the brain plays an important role in maintaining normal mental health. ECS modulates emotion, reward processing, sleep regulation, aversive memory extinction and HPA axis regulation. ECS overactivity contributes to visceral fat accumulation, insulin resistance and impaired energy expenditure. Since the likely mechanism of action does not rely upon dopamine D2 receptor antagonism, synergistic combinations with existing APs are plausible. The anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects of the non-intoxicating phytocannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD) are well established and are summarised below. Preliminary data reviewed in this paper suggest that CBD in combination with a CB1 receptor neutral antagonist could not only augment the effects of standard APs but also target the metabolic, inflammatory and stress-related components of the schizophrenia phenotype.

This review explores the limited knowledge surrounding the epidemiology of gestational and postnatal cannabis exposure and implications for the mother-placenta-fetus/neonate triad. We examine cannabis' effects from antenatal and lactation exposure on (a) pregnancy and perinatal outcomes, (b) placental health, and (c) longer term cardiometabolic and neurodevelopmental risks and outcomes. Though definitive outcomes are lacking, gestational cannabis has been associated with increased risk of other substance use during pregnancy; impaired placental blood flow; increased risk of small for gestational age births; and associated complications. Childhood and adolescent outcomes are sparsely assessed, with suggested outcomes including increased risk of depression and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.
