The authors report some peculiar features in the diagnosis and surgical treatment for cancer of the gastric stump and gastroenteroanastomosis in 13 patients, previously subjected to gastric resection and gastroenterostomy for duodenal ulcerous disease (4--34 years ago). The radical operation (subtotal or extensive gastrectomy) was performed in 9 patients, 3 of them died in the immediate postoperative period. Of 6 radically operated patients with a favourable outcome, late results were studied in 3. No
tumor
recurrence was noted. Histologically, there were adenocarcinoma--in 8, solid cancer--in 1,
hemangioma
--in 1, benign polyps--in 2 cases.

A case of cavernous
hemangioma
which developed in the parietal convexity is reported. Angiography reveals that the mass is located extra-axially in the parietal convexity and the middle meningeal artery feeds the
tumor
. The feature of
tumor
stain is pooling or laking of contrast medium which is partially visualized even 10 minutes after injection of contrast medium. CT findings are almost identical to those of meningioma.

A 63-year-old woman had an osseous
hemangioma
of the orbital rim. Diagnosis of this primary bone
tumor
was made by its distinctive radiographic appearance and confirmed by pathologic, examination. Although this is a benign lesion, it is expansile and can cause ocular signs. Surgical resection is the recommended treatment.

The carcinogenic activity of orally administered N-bis(2-hydroxypropyl)-nitrosamine (DHPN) in male Wistar rats was evaluated with respect to its dose. DHPN was administered at two doses, 100 ppm and 500 ppm, in the drinking water to rats for 25 to 52 weeks.
Tumors
developed in the lung, liver, and thyroid of rats receiving 100 ppm DHPN and in the lung, liver thyroid, esophagus, kidney, and urinary bladder of rats receiving 500 ppm DHPN. The principal target organ was the lung in rats receiving either 100 or 500 ppm DHPN, indicating that the carcinogenic action of these doses of DHPN was similar to that of higher doses previously reported. Histologically, the tumors were adenoma, adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and combined carcinoma of the lung, hepatocellular carcinoma and
hemangioma
of the liver, adenoma and adenocarcinoma of the thyroid, squamous cell papilloma and carcinoma of the esophagus, renal cell and transitional carcinoma of the kidney, and transitional cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder. No pancreatic tumors were observed.

A 15-year-old white girl had a presumed choroidal
hemangioma
in the posterior pole of the right eye. The lesion appeared to grow, and we performed a phosphorous uptake test, which was positive. Subsequent studies demonstrated that the
tumor
was a choroidal osteoma.

Hemangioma
of the knee joint capsule is rare. Although there are exact descriptions of the lesion to be found in the world literature, it is relatively unfamiliar among surgeons. Some characteristic symptoms as painful swelling, hemarthrosis, disappearance of swelling upon limb elevation, muscular atrophy, limitation of the knee motion, occasionally increased leg length or locking in circumscribed tumors and x-ray findings as osteolytic changes, periostal new bone formation and bony atrophy lead to the diagnosis. Phleboliths are pathognomonic. Another very characteristic case is added to the about 160 cases described in the world literature. Arthrography is helpful only in rare instances. Arteriography is critizised differently, but more frequently it is thought to be of diagnostic value. Arthroscopy does not lead any further in diffuse
hemangioma
. The treatment of choice is radical excision of the
tumor
whenever possible. In order to avoid secondary arthrotic changes early surgical intervention is favourable.

Eight cases are described of intracranial and peripheral neoplasms composed of mixed neurilemmoma and
hemangioma
. It is proposed that ectomesenchyme can differentiate into neurilemmoma and
angioma
. The latter may be related to recently described angiogenetic factors, or to developmental factors as in rare cases of arterial angiomas. The angiomatous part may be common, but has often been overlooked. The presence of abnormal vessels, whether in kind or in number, helps explain various biological features of neurilemmoma. These vessels frequently bleed within the
tumor
, which results in the characteristic hemosiderin-laden macrophages. Bleeding may also occur into the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) to create xanthochromia. The frequent increase in CSF protein in cases of neurilemmoma is attributed to transudation of serum from abnormal vessels. Less commonly, bleeding may be sufficient to cause subarachnoid hemorrhage. The dense collagen usually associated with these angiomas accounts for the relative infrequence of major hemorrhages.

The authors report and discuss a calvalial metastasis of alveolar soft part sarcoma which primarily developed in the left arm. A 13-year-old girl noted a painless
tumor
in the left upper arm at the age of 7 years. The
tumor
was excised and histologically alveolar soft part sarcoma. 5 years later, a rapid growing
tumor
was noted in the parietal area. The craniograms showed the left parietal bone defect. The chest X-ray showed a few large oval metastatic shadows. The left common carotid angiograms demonostrated high vascularities with irregular vessels in the arterial phase and a homogenous blush or stain in the venous phase. It was thought likely to meningioma. In selective external carotid angiograms, early arterial phase showed a few of vascular streaks in beads, fine tortuous vessels and early conspicuous filling of enlarged vein. Paradoxically, despite evidence of rapid shunting of blood from the lesion. "Wash out" of contrast media from the lesion was slow. Above mentioned angiographic appearance was consistent with that of cases reported by Rosenbaum, A.E., and was considered characteristic features of alveolar soft part sarcoma, meningiosarcoma and malignant melanoma. It must be emphasized that the slective angiography is important to differentiate angiographically alveolar soft part sarcoma, meningiosarcoma, malignant melanoma from meningioma or
angioma
. Radiotherapy is not effective to the pulmonary metastatic lesion. Selective angiography should be emphazied to be essential for differentiation of alveolar soft part sarcoma from
angioma
or meningioma.

Paraffin material of 31 benign and malignant vascular tumors was investigated with respect to their blood group isoantigen (BG) content by the mixed cell agglutination reaction (MCAR). In capillary
hemangioma
, BG was found in endothelial cells as well as in solid buds. Benign hemangioendothelioma found in endothelial cells as well as in solid buds. Benign hemangioendothelioma found in children differed from that found in adults in that in juvenile cases only endothelial cells expressed BG whereas in adult cases BG isoantigenity was present in endothelial cells as well as in intercapillary cellular elements. In pericytomas only endothelial cells were BG positive, whereas the
tumor
cells lacked BG. Similar results were obtained with glomus tumors. All but one hemangiosarcoma were BG negative. In one case, however, which probably resembled a "true" malignant hemangioendothelioma (Stout and Lattes, 1967) the
tumor
cells contained BG in conspicuous amounts.

A benign cavernous hemangiomyoma of the uterus in a 52-year-old woman is described. The
tumor
consisted of large venous channels within a stroma composed chiefly of smooth muscle and was confined to the corpus, without involvement of the endometrium or cervix. Considerable thrombosis had occurred within the vascular spaces.
Hemangiomas
of the uterus are very uncommon and the great majority are benign. A classification of uterine hemangiomas is presented, together with a discussion of their histogenesis and their relation to malformations.
