We present a case of a 23 month-old boy presenting with fever, irritability and diarrhea who subsequently developed symptoms of photophobia and

. Cerebrospinal fluid culture grew Listeria monocytogenes. Immunology investigations were normal. This patient had a complete and uncomplicated recovery.
