Omental infarction
is a rare cause of acute abdomen that usually occurs on the right side. Left omental
ischemia
is rare in adults and to our knowledge not yet described in children. Its diagnosis, although difficult, is important because it can avoid surgery. We report a case of left segmental omental infarction in an 11-year-old child, diagnosed by imaging studies, treated conservatively, and followed up by ultrasound until complete disappearance of the lesion.
