Abdominal CT of 230 patients (310 CT examinations) with a diagnosis of malignant melanoma was retrospectively reviewed for the evaluation of small bowel and mesenteric involvement. Seventeen (7.4%) patients had evidence of small bowel and mesenteric involvement on CT. There were four distinct patterns of disease: (a) intraluminal masses in 3 patients; (b) ulcerating lesions in 2; (c) diffuse infiltration in 6; (d) implants in 10. Four patients had more than two patterns of involvement. Of the 10 patients with tumor implants, carcinomatosis was noted in 2. Two patients had
intussusception
and 4 had extensive mesenteric
nodal
involvement. Of the 17 patients, 12 (71%) had at least one symptom referable to the gastrointestinal tract, while 5 (29%) were clinically asymptomatic. Fourteen of the 17 patients (82%) had additional intraabdominal metastases to sites other than small bowel and mesentery.

A 36-year-old man was diagnosed with plasma-cell type Castleman's disease with the presentation of recurrent lymphadenpathy of the neck. HIV infection was not suspected or confirmed until esophageal candidiasis developed one year later. Meanwhile, surgery was performed for intestinal
intussusception
and obstruction caused by lymphocyte-depletion Hodgkin lymphoma. However, he died of rapidly progressive pneumonia and disseminated intravascular coagulation associated with intracerebral hemorrhage, which occurred 6 months later during the course of chemotherapy. This case suggests that HIV infection should be considered in patients who present with plasma-cell type Castleman's disease or lymphocyte-depletion Hodgkin lymphoma with extra-
nodal
involvement in order to conduct appropriate diagnosis and initiate treatment for HIV infection.

Intestinal intussusception
rarely occurs in the adult population and accounts only for 1% to 5% of all the causes of intestinal obstruction. This complication is more frequent in the small bowel and can be due to different aetiologies, including inflammatory, infectious or neoplastic diseases. Malignancies account for 50% to 60% of all cases of colon invagination. The gastrointestinal (GI) tract is the most common site for extra-
nodal
non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHL), representing 5% to 20% of all the cases. However, primary NHL of the GI tract is a very infrequent clinic-pathological entity and accounts only for 1% to 4% of all the neoplasms of the GI tract. Primary NHL of the colon is a rare disease and it comprises only 0.2% to 1.2% of all colonic malignancies. Here we describe a case of an AIDS adult patient who developed an
intussusception
secondary to a primary large B cell lymphoma of the transverse colon. English and Spanish literature was reviewed.

Follicular dendritic cell sarcoma (FDCS) is a rare intermediate grade sarcoma involving a variety of
nodal
and extra
nodal
sites. It has two histological subtypes, conventional and inflammatory pseudotumour like variant. We report this interesting case of FDCS presenting colonic
intussusception
at Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad, Pakistan. Conventional FDCS presenting as a colocolic
intussusception
is an unusual presentation, and to our knowledge, has never been reported previously. It has wide morphological spectrum on light microscopy and has characteristic immune-reactivity for dendritic cell markers (CD21, CD23, and CD35). Surgical excision is required in all cases while role of adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy is not clearly demonstrated in literature.
