Six cases with bronchial disruption due to blunt chest trauma are reported. Clinical symptoms were dyspnea in 5 patients,
hemopneumothorax
in 3 cases, and
hemoptysis
and subcutaneous emphysema in 4 cases each. Pneumothorax was not found on immediate radiological examination in 3 patients. Bronchial disruption was defined by exploratory thoracotomy in one case three days after trauma. In the remaining 5 cases, the diagnosis was demonstrated by lipiodol bronchography and fibrobronchoscopy 70 days to 6 years later. End-to-end anastomosis of the bronchus was performed in 5 patients, whereas right middle and lower lobectomy was done in one case. Five patients with bronchial repair suffered transient atelectasis of the lung, which reexpanded in 4 to 10 days.

Pulmonary complications are described in a case of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type IV, established by studies of collagen biosynthesis. At age 20.5 years the patient, who had previously suffered a spontaneous colonic perforation, developed intermittent recurrent
hemoptysis
and had a spontaneous
hemopneumothorax
. At presentation, imaging studies revealed multiple scattered cavitary lesions in both lungs. On separate occasions large parenchymal cysts ensued and subsequently regressed. Reviews of other reported patients indicate that pulmonary complications do occur in patients with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type IV but have not resulted directly in patient mortality.

A 67-year-old man suffered a traffic accident and was transferred to an emergency hospital close to the scene. He was diagnosed to have bilateral
pneumohemothorax
with a lung contusion, an anterior fracture dislocation of the C6-vertebra and a cervical cord injury at the level of C7. On the 48th day, massive
hemoptysis
was suddenly recognized. He was transferred in a state of shock to our hospital to undergo hemostasis for the bleeding. On the day of admission, a selective arteriogram showed extravasation from the left bronchial artery, for which embolization was carried out using Gelfoam. In spite of this treatment, his
hemoptysis
continued. On the next day, a selective left internal mammary arteriogram showed an arteriovenous fistula between the left internal mammary artery and the left pulmonary vein without any apparent extravasation. The arteriovenous fistula was successfully embolized using platinum fiber coils. The patient no longer demonstrated any
hemoptysis
after embolization.

Post-traumatic pulmonary pseudocyst is an uncommon cavitary lesion of the lung, which generally develops after blunt chest trauma. We saw a 22-year-old man with chest trauma,
hemopneumothorax
, and
hemoptysis
, on the day he fell from an electrical pylon. Intubation in the emergency department was followed by 4 days of mechanical ventilation. Computed tomogram found a post-traumatic pulmonary pseudocyst. On hospital day 6 he developed pneumonia, which we treated with ceftazidime plus gentamycin. He was discharged on hospital day 20, and a month later the pseudocyst had resolved without complications. Diagnosis of post-traumatic pulmonary pseudocyst may require computed tomography, and some complicated cases may require surgery.

Catamenial pneumothorax (CP) is the most common form of thoracic endometriosis syndrome, which also includes catamenial hemothorax, catamenial
hemoptysis
, catamenial
hemopneumothorax
and endometriosis lung nodules, as well as some exceptional presentations. Usually onset of lung collapse is less than 72 hours after menstruation. Most commonly occurs in women aged 30-40 years, but has been diagnosed in young girls as early as 10 years of age and post menopausal women (exclusively in women of menstrual age) most with a history of pelvic endometriosis. Diagnosis can be hinted by high recurrence rates of lung collapse in a woman of reproductive age with endometriosis. Moreover; CA-125 is elevated. Video-assisted thoracoscopy or medical thoracoscopy is used for confirmation. In our current work we will present all aspects of CP from diagnosis to treatment.

A 79-year-old female visited a hospital because of high fever and computed tomography(CT)showed a cystic lesion with fluid accumulation in her left lung. She had
hemoptysis
and left chest pain 3 days after antibiotic therapy was started. Chest CT demonstrated the cystic lesion rupturing and causing
hemopneumothorax
. Then she was referred to our department and thoracic drainage was performed. However, a week after the drainage, she had
hemoptysis
and chest pain again, and the left lower lobectomy was performed. Histopathological findings showed the cystic lesion was intrapulmonary bronchogenic cyst. We describe a rare case of the
hemopneumothorax
due to the hemorrhage in the bronchogenic cyst.

Thoracic endometriosis syndrome (TES) is a rare disorder presenting with catamenial pneumothorax, hemothorax,
hemoptysis
or pulmonary nodules. Bilateral involvement is uncommon, and only a very few cases have been reported in the literature. We report a case of bilateral catamenial hemothorax in a patient with recurrent thoracic endometriosis. Despite multiple surgical interventions, the patient continued to develop
hemopneumothorax
coinciding with menses. Remission was finally achieved with the addition of gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist, highlighting the effectiveness of postoperative adjuvant hormone therapy and supporting a combined surgical and medical approach in the treatment of TES in patients who desire future fertility.

Background
: Angiosarcoma is a rare and aggressive tumor of vascular endothelial origin. Pulmonary metastasis can lead to potential life-threatening complications, such as bleeding and pneumothorax.
Methods
: We report on a 82-year-old male with major
hemoptysis
, recurrent
hemopneumothorax
and cystic lung lesions.
Results
: Although initial diagnostic findings were misleading, thoracoscopic exploration revealed pulmonary and pleural metastasized angiosarcoma.
Conclusion
: The presence of
hemoptysis
or (recurrent)
hemopneumothorax
associated with cystic lung lesions should alert the clinician of possible pulmonary metastasized angiosarcoma.

Catamenial pneumothorax (CP) is considered to be the most common form of thoracic endometriosis syndrome, which also includes catamenial hemothorax, catamenial
hemopneumothorax
, catamenial
hemoptysis
, and endometriosis lung nodules. Diagnosis can be hinted by high recurrence rates of lung collapse in a woman of reproductive age with endometriosis. In our case we present a 41 year old woman at the time of the second incidence with a left pneumothorax and holes in the pericardium in the diaphragm location. Laparoscopic evaluation was performed along with video-assisted thoracoscopy and treatment was performed with both techniques.
