The principal symptoms associate with olfactory groove meningeomas are anosmia and
headache
which lead the patient to an ENT specialist.
Frontal sinusitis
, migraine and neuralgia are the most frequent incorrect diagnosis. Positive radiological changes are found frequently on the plain films of patients with these olfactory tumors, even up to 70% according to the literature. It is important to bear this in mind regarding olfactory groove meningeomas to avoid mistakes in diagnosis.

A blow sustained to the head while wrestling may produce frontal osteomyelitis and its complications, Pott's puffy tumor and epidural abscess. The symptoms may be minimal and may be manifested only by a mild
headache
and occasional stuffy nose. A 16-year-old boy was studied one month after a head injury sustained while wrestling, complaining only of recurrent
headaches
and fever. A fluctuant mass was found in the midfrontal area.
Frontal sinusitis
, subperiosteal abscesss epidural abscess, and frontal osteomyelitis were found at surgery. The frontal bone involved by the osteomyelitis was debrided, and the epidural abscess was evacuated.

Olfactory groove meningioma is a rare clinical entity. The principal symptoms associated with olfactory groove meningiomas are anosmia and
headache
which lead the patient to the ENT specialist.
Frontal sinusitis
, migraine and neuralgia are most frequent incorrect diagnoses. This retrospective study of 13 consecutive patients who underwent excision of Olfactory Groove meningiomas in the North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary, Department of Neurosurgery over a 20-year period was undertaken to study the presenting features, duration of symptoms, results of surgery, and long-term follow-up. Symptoms were present for less than 6 months to 3 years. Although excision was thought to be complete reoccurrences occurred in four patients. The morbidity of surgery was significant.

A case of balloon frontal sinuplasty in a 12-year old male with intracranial abscess from acute sinusitis is presented. The patient experienced photophobia, fever,
headache
, nausea and vomiting.
Frontal sinusitis
with intracranial abscess was diagnosed on imaging. The patient was taken to the operating room for drainage with left frontal balloon sinuplasty. The patient showed immediate clinical improvement, did not suffer from any complications of surgery and was further managed with long term intravenous antibiotics. We believe that balloon frontal sinuplasty is potentially safe and effective in the treatment of complicated acute frontal sinus obstruction in children.
