Dancers performing classical, characteristic and national dances represent one of those activities that cause stress of nervous-muscular and psycho-emotional systems, locomotion apparatus induced by physical efforts. Intensive physical and psycho - emotional stress during the dancing process causes misbalance between physiological possibilities of the body and its capability of prompt adaptation, thus creating conditions for developing pathologies. Among male dancers of Georgian national ballet most frequently occur professional diseases such as:
arthrosis
and traumatic meniscites of knee joints,
arthrosis
of talocrural joint, epicondylitis of shoulder bone, chronic lumboiliac sacriplex radiculitis, and osteochondrosis of cervical part of the spine; among female dancers osteochodrosis of neck and chronic lumboiliac radiculitis were mainly observed. Increased level of neurasthenic syndrome among dancers of Georgian national ballet occurred in the form of hypertonic type vegetative-vascular
dystonia
. That stemmed from peculiarities of dancers work and permits to ascribe this pathology to the group of work-related diseases. To this group should be ascribed as well podagra arthritis of a foot stemmed from: a) systematic micro-traumas resulting in dystrophic changes and b) special regimen of nutrition.

Total replacement of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is an effective treatment for intractable pain and impaired function that is a consequence of end-stage joint disease. Prospective assessment of 138 joint replacements identified an 8% risk of intraoperative dislocation of the joint, which was associated primarily with coronoidectomy (30%) and inflammatory
arthropathy
(24%). Management included the use of intermaxillary elastic traction and treatment of masticatory
dystonia
when present. Of the 11 patients who had light elastic traction for one week, only one required further treatment for dislocation. Patients with no intraoperative dislocation did not require elastics, and joints remained stable postoperatively.

A 62-year-old male diagnosed with cervical
dystonia
(CD) and chronic right-sided neck pain presented to the Pain Clinic after his pain and CD symptoms failed to resolve with botulinum toxin therapy. During clinical examination, right C3-C4 and C4-C5 facet
arthropathy
was suspected. After two sets of diagnostic right cervical, C3, C4, and C5 medial branch blocks provided >80% pain relief; cervical radiofrequency ablation (CRFA) was performed. Post CRFA, the patient was followed for 12 months. Till the last follow-up, he was not only experiencing 90% pain relief, but also had significant improvement in his CD symptoms to the point that he no longer needed botulinum toxin and other CD-related therapy. This report suggests that large-scale research is required to postulate whether CD patients, whose symptoms are refractory to botulinum toxin, should be routinely screened for cervical facet
arthropathy
. This is the first reported case of improvement in CD symptoms with CRFA. This effect could be explained by the fact that certain deep cervical muscles, which are affected in CD, are innervated by medial branch nerves.
