The benign lesions of esophagus constitutes small part of all esophageal tumors and among them giant esophageal polyps are exceptionally rarely reported. The authors present the uncommon case of pedunculated giant fibrovascular polyp (lenght 12cm and diameter 2cm) in the esophagus in a 79-years-old woman who was admitted to our department because of hoarseness, throat discomfort during swallowing and endoral tumor regurgitation during
cough
. The polyp was removed by minimally invasive approach by endoscopic procedure which was particularly important in our patient because of her advanced age. No recurrence was observed during follow-up.

Scimitar syndrome is a rare and complex congenital anomaly characterized by partial or complete anomalous pulmonary venous return from the right or left lung into the inferior vena cava, through drainage into the hepatic vein, right atrium or left atrium. The syndrome is commonly associated with hypoplasia of the right lung and right pulmonary artery. We present an 11-year-old female with atypical and rare type of scimitar syndrome. The girl has had

for 2 months before admission, without fever or abnormalities on medical examination. X-ray films revealed inflammatory and atelectatic changes with mediastinal shift to the right. CT and CT angiography - hypoplasia of the right lung with no visible interlobar fissures. No areas of consolidation in the pulmonary parenchyma. Mediastinum shifted to the right. Single wide venous vessels draining the upper part of the right lung entering the superior vena cava. In our patient, clinical symptoms are mild, but a thorough physical examination could have helped diagnose the syndrome earlier.

reflex. Distribution of drugs used in the treatment of

takes into account the pharmacokinetic activity, and this mainly affect on bronchial secretions--drugs that act directly, which destroy disulfide bonds mucous glucoproteins using free sulfhydryl groups and digesting enzymes, extracellular DNA, acting indirectly, that modify the secretion of mucus in the way of other mechanisms, as well as acting on the
cough
reflex (effects on receptors in the bronchial tree). Mucolytics reduce the viscosity of bronchial secretions by interrupting the sulfide bonds in the mucoprotein chain. Mucokinetic drugs are designed to reduce the adhesion of secretions and facilitate the process of mucociliary clearance by enhancing the potency of cilia. One of the ways of the increasing process is the stimulation of secretion by human neutrophil elastase gene and protein expression regulating this process. The pharmacokinetic properties of these drugs show their high clinical utility and effectiveness in the treatment of respiratory secretions dense clutter. This is possible to reduce the viscosity of mucus by bromhexine. This is obtained by acid depolymerization of the polysaccharide fibers in the bronchial secretions. Synergistic effect with antibiotics of these preparations indicates their permanent place in the treatment of patients with respiratory pathology.

Hypersensitivity to the fruit mango is extremely rare and can exhibit either as immediate or delayed reactions. Since 1939, only 22 patients (10 with immediate type I reactions and 12 with delayed) have been documented with allergy to mango. History of atopy and geographical region may influence the type of reaction. Immediate reactions occurred most often in patients with history of atopy, while delayed reactions developed in non-atopic individuals. Clustering of delayed hypersensitivity reports from Australia and immediate reactions from Europe has been documented. Recurrent respiratory papillomatosis is an increasingly common disease which leads to organic and functional limitations. Clinical symptoms depend on the location and extent of the papillomatosis. They include hoarseness,
cough
, and, in some cases, significant narrowing of the respiratory and digestive tracts. The present report describes a fatal case of a young man (28 years old) who developed a very dynamic papilloma infection of the larynx, which spread to the trachea, the oesophagus, the soft tissues of the neck, and the mediastinum. Multimodal treatment did not stop the progression of the disease. The papillomatous lesion was removed with a CO2 laser used in a Kleinsasser microlaryngoscopy and under a microscope using a electrocoagulation loop with argon plasma during the gastroscopy. Antiviral treatment with cidofovir was introduced, as well as in further follow-up radiotherapy. Congenital or acquired immunodeficiency was also excluded. Despite multimodal treatment, successful eradication of the infection was not possible. In our case, aggressive progression of the disease was observed. We were unable to confirm malignant transformation. Papillomatosis was the only disease, and its aggressive development led to the patient's death. In the case of aggressive, uncontrolled progression - when the infiltration spreads beyond the larynx and the hypopharynx - there are no alternative treatment methods that would lead to an effective cure.

Bronchosol is a traditional medicinal product in the form of syrup used in
cough
and impeded expectoration. The active ingredients that it contains include extracts from the herb of thyme, the root of primrose and thymol. It is recommended in disorders of the respiratory tract when expectoration is impeded and secretion of liquid mucus in bronchi is insufficient. Antimicrobial activity of the components of Bronchosol, especially thyme and thymol, has frequently been reported in the literature. To date, there have not been any studies to confirm such activity of Bronchosol, though. The results of our research are the first one to point to the great activity of Bronchosol against microorganisms causing infections of the respiratory tract. It has been demonstrated that this product displayed antimicrobial activity against reference strains as well as strains of anaerobic and aerobic bacteria and fungi isolated from patients. The confirmation of the antimicrobial activity of Bronchosol provides an explanation of its effectiveness in the therapy of the respiratory tract infections.

In general aneurysms of the pulmonary arteries are less frequent than intracranial, aortic or other vascular locations. Infectious causes include bacteria such as Staphylococcus sp and Streptococcus sp, mycobacteria, Treponema pallidium (syphilis) and rarely fungi. A prior history of ventricular septal defect repair could favour fungal endocarditis.
