A 53 year old male was admitted with
cough
, chest pain and bloody sputa for one month. His admission chest radiography revealed a tumor shadow in right hilus. The patient was diagnosed as small cell lung cancer (oat cell type) by transbronchial biopsy. Clinical staging was IIIA and performance status was 1. The patient was treated by combined chemotherapy (CPA,
ADM
and VCR) for 3 courses and chest irradiation (5,000 rad). After such therapy, the primary site was regressive until 2 months prior to death. One month after irradiation, abdominal CT showed multiple liver metastases. Though CDDP 100 mg/body and etoposide 100 mg/body X5 were administered systemically, improvement of metastases of the liver was not revealed by abdominal CT. However, after hepatic arterial infusion of
ADM
(10 mg/body) suspended in a lipiodol (3 ml/body) and CDDP (100 mg/body) was performed, liver metastases were remarkably regressive by abdominal CT. The patient died of a systemic relapse about 14 months after liver involvement.

A 47-year-old man was admitted to Shinshu University Hospital in 1992 because of
cough
and chest abnormal shadow. In 1987, he had an operation for Meibomian gland carcinoma of his right lower eyelid, and also received radiotherapy. His chest X-ray film on admission showed tumor shadows in the bilateral upper lung fields. The chest CT scan showed tumors in the right S1 and the left S3. Bronchofiberscopic findings demonstrated stenosis of the right upper bronchus and an endobronchial mass occluding the left B3. A biopsy specimen of the endobronchial mass revealed sebaceous carcinoma, which was identical with that of the resected eyelid tumor. He received two courses of chemotherapy in a combination of CDDP 75 mg/m2 and
ADM
50 mg/m2. The tumors on chest X-ray and CT scan became small by the chemotherapy. Bronchofiberscopy after the chemotherapy also revealed that the stenosis of the right upper bronchus improved and the endobronchial mass in the left B3 had disappeared. He died 8 months after initial chemotherapy with a response duration of 7 months.

A 55-year-old woman with recurrent breast cancer treated with sequential mastectomies, chemo-and hormonal therapy of UFT, CPM and TAM, achieved remission. Six months later she was admitted with a diagnosis of carcinomatous pleurisy. A large pleural effusion was drained followed by administration of
ADM
, which improved her effusion and accompanying dyspnea. The effusion recurred but the patient desired outpatient treatment. Thus, we prescribed oral 5'-DFUR and MPA. One month later, her
cough
had improved and her sputum cytology was negative, while on chest radiograph the pleural effusion had decreased and the patch-like shadows in her right lung field had disappeared. She was considered as a case of PR. At one year and 3 months after starting concomitant 5'-DFUR and MPA the pleural effusion disappeared. The patient has received this outpatient treatment for 2 years without adverse reactions.
