A 32-year-old man was admitted to our hospital suffering from
cough
and bloody sputum. After the preoperative examination, the most suspected diagnosis was either a cardiac myxoma or a pulmonary embolism. At operation, the cavity of main pulmonary trunk was occupied with a tumor growing through the stalk from the outflow tract of right ventricle. The invasive tumor was not completely removed from the pulmonary tract.
Rhabdomyosarcoma
originating from the right ventricle was confirmed histologically. The patient died on the 199th postoperative day. A necropsy was not conducted. Diagnosis, operative indication and chemotherapy of cardiac rhabdomyosarcoma are discussed in this paper.

This report describes the first case of rhabdomyosarcoma of the trachea in a 65 year old man with a five week history of
cough
, wheezing, and hemoptysis. The tumor, presumably originating in the submucosal tissue, was characterized as an intratracheal polypoid mass showing no local invasion or distant metastasis.
Rhabdomyosarcoma
of the lower respiratory tract and its histogenesis are briefly reviewed and discussed.

Rhabdomyosarcoma
(RMS) is a rare type of soft tissue sarcoma that mainly affects children. RMS in childhood commonly occurs in the head and neck, followed by the genitourinary tract. Primary pulmonary rhabdomyosarcoma (PPR) is extremely rare. We report a 31-month-old girl who had PPR with brain metastasis. The girl with wheezing and
cough
of 3 weeks and vomiting of 1 day was referred to a county hospital. At 9:00 a.m., a chest X-ray showed an abnormal shadow on a chest radiogram. Four hours later, in the process of computed tomography (CT) scan her condition deteriorated dramatically, while resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. CT showed a solid mass in the right middle lung lobe. Subsequent autopsy revealed a large tumour located in the right middle lung lobe. Surprisingly, a mass of haematoma appearance was found in the left occipital lobe. Histological and immunohistochemical investigations of the masses established the diagnosis of PPR with brain metastasis. Herniation of brain, caused by the brain metastasis, was ascertained as the cause of death. The morphological and pathological findings are presented; the difficulty to diagnose PPR and the medico-legal implications are discussed.

Rhabdomyosarcoma
(RMS) is a malignant form of neoplasm that originates from skeletal muscle. RMSs can exist anywhere in the human body but are more commonly detected in the neck region and extremities. The alveolar type is one of the subtypes of RMS that has a poor prognosis. Because the clinical manifestation of a tumour can be a painless mass, symptoms might be non-contributary to the diagnosis. Herein, a four-month-old girl was admitted to the emergency department with complaints of respiratory distress without a runny nose,
cough
, and fever. Recurrent effusions subsided with subsequent tube thoracostomy. Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) was performed to determine the aetiology of the recurrent effusion. The Tru-Cut biopsy obtained during VATS resulted in the diagnosis of alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. Pleural effusion decreased, and the tube drainage was stopped rapidly after first vincristine, actinomycin-D, and cyclophosphamide chemotherapy cycle. Persistent and recurrent pleural effusions should alert physicians to rule out unusual diagnoses like that of our case.
