The effects of orthostatic tilting were studied in 12 mongrel dogs anesthetized with sodium pentobarbital.
Orthostasis
produced significant decreases in cardiac output and left ventricular dimensions. Secondary decreases in coronary flow and myocardial oxygen consumption were also documented.
