25 children, 2-24 months old, who had severe labial adhesions involving the entire length of the labia minora were treated with .01% dienestrol cream applied locally on a daily basis. Adhesions separated after treatment in 22 children; duration of treatment was 1 week in 8 patients, 2 weeks in 10 patients, 3 weeks in 3 patients, and 4 weeks in 1 patient. Slight vulval pigmentation occurred in almost all patients but disappeared after medication was stopped. 1 patient had erythema of the vulva. Recurrence of adhesions was infrequent.
