A 3
-year-old boy presented with persistent abdominal pain, hematuria and facial pallor with progressive anemia. A computed tomography scan showed a massive intraperitoneal hemorrhage and tumor mass in the bladder. Histological examinations of the resected tumor revealed findings of pseudosarcomatous myofibroblastic tumor (PMT). The clinico-pathological features of this case warn us that PMT can cause
acute abdomen
syndrome with massive intraperitoneal hemorrhage.

A 3
-year-old boy was referred to a regional centre with an
acute abdomen
. On admission, his abdomen was clinically benign but an extremely high serum amylase titre noted. The patient was treated with simple observation and over the following period he was found to have an inflamed parotid gland.

A 3
years old female child was brought to the emergency department with
acute abdomen
. Laparotomy disclosed multiple segmental dilatations in the middle third of the ileum which was resected and anastomosed. Post-operative recovery was uneventful. Histopathological findings showed lack of smooth and longitudinal muscles in dilated segments of the intestine with intact mucosa without any evidence of necrosis and inflammation.

We present the case of a 52-year-old male patient, hospitalized on an emergency basis in the University Emergency Hospital in Bucharest, after being diagnosed with pneumoperitoneum
acute abdomen
, for which emergency surgery was mandatory.

,5-4 cm malignant gastric perforation, ascitis and peritoneal carcinomatosis were found. The histopathological exam revealed infiltrative mucinous gastric carcinoma with epiploic metastasis. Due to the lack of available gastric material, an atypical surgical solution was performed: gastric packing with epiploic material by means of transgastric traction. The solution proved to be successful for short-term recovery. The underlying condition was not focused on, the patient being directed to the Oncology Department. Acute gastric perforation is a rare complication of gastric cancer, and the association with gastric linitis is uncommon. This specific histopathological condition made the classical surgical repair techniques unsuitable for the presented case and an atypical solution had to be performed.

Mesenteric lymphatic malformations are rare benign tumors that are most commonly found in children. The presentation of these tumors can be variable. It has been suggested that mesenteric lymphatic malformations are congenital; however, there is evidence that their size may be increased by infection.
A 3
-year 10-month-old boy presented with rhinorrhea and cough followed by acute abdominal pain. Ultrasonography revealed a lobulated mass in the lower abdomen. Computerized tomography scan of the abdomen diagnosed an inflamed appendix with perforation. Laparotomy revealed a multicystic mass within the mesentery closely adherent to the ileum; with omentum wrapped around. The appendix was dilated and firm. An ileal resection and an appendicectomy were performed. Histology confirmed acute transmural appendicitis with concurrent cystic lymphangioma of the ileal mesentery. Although rare, cystic lymphangioma must be considered in the differential of pediatric
acute abdomen
. Surgeons must be aware of this association and be reminded to inspect the rest of small bowel during appendicectomy especially if the preoperative imaging is suspicious.
