Tranilast
inhibited the release of bFGF from the cells. In conclusion, tranilast depresses the nifedipine-induced proliferation of gingival fibroblasts by inhibiting the release of bFGF. Administration of tranilast may thus be clinically effective for the treatment of gingival overgrowth.
