We report a primary leptomeningeal lymphoma (PLML) presenting as a cerebellopontine angle lesion. CT showed slight enlargement of the ventricular system, obliteration of the basal cisterns and a dense lesion in the left cerebellopontine angle which enhanced with contrast medium. Cerebrospinal fluid abnormalities included sterile lymphocytic pleocytosis without malignant cells, low sugar and high
adenosine deaminase
levels. An erroneous diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis was made, but autopsy revealed a leptomeningeal
B-cell lymphoma
with infiltration of the middle cerebellar peduncle giving the appearance of a cerebellopontine angle lesion. Seven cases of cerebellopontine angle lymphoma have previously been described, only one of which could be classified as PLML.

Cladribine (2-chlorodeoxyadenosine: 2-CdA) is a chlorinated purine analogue that is resistant to degradation by
adenosine deaminase
. Phosphorylated derivatives of 2-CdA accumulate in lymphocytes with high deoxycytidine kinase activity, resulting in DNA strand breaks and cell death. Since the cytotoxic properties of 2-CdA are independent of cell division, 2-CdA is expected to be an effective agent in the treatment of indolent lymphoid malignancy with low-growth fraction. The agent was synthesized and has been investigated extensively by researchers at the Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation in the United States. The FDA approved cladribine for use against hairy cell leukemia, in 1993, and it was approved against hairy cell leukemia and indolent
B-cell lymphoma
in Japan in 2002 as Leustatin (Janssen Pharma Co. Ltd., Tokyo, Japan). The efficacy, toxicity and clinical usefulness of this agent against indolent lymphoid malignancies will be described according to the data from several clinical trials conducted in the United States, European countries and Japan.

Multiple intra-abdominal organ infiltration or disseminated peritoneal lymphoma receives much less attention than peritoneal carcinomatosis in clinical practice. This may be due to its relatively infrequent occurrence. In this report, an 89-year-old woman was diagnosed with disseminated peritoneal lymphoma with gastric and rectal involvement and marked ascites. Flow cytometry of the surface markers for ascites showed positive results for CD19, CD20 and CD45. Biopsy of the stomach and rectum were all reported to show diffuse large
B-cell lymphoma
. The cytology of ascites is a simple and effective method for making a diagnosis from adequate samples with time limitations. The management of this disease depends on the individual case. It must be kept in mind that differential diagnosis from other pathologic entities with similar imaging features or high ascitic fluid
adenosine deaminase
levels is difficult because of considerable overlap of clinical features. To prolong the survival of patients with peritoneal lymphomatosis, diagnosis should be made as early as possible.

The nutrition condition of earlier life has a long-term influence on health of its later period. In order to the explore effects of in ovo feeding of vitamin C on splenic development, splenic metabolism and apoptosis were detected in embryo, adult chickens and in vitro. A total of 360 fertile eggs were selected and randomly assigned to 2 treatments: the control group (CON) and vitamin C group (VC) were injected with saline and vitamin C on embryonic day 11, respectively. Functional enrichment of differentially expressed genes by transcriptome on embryonic day 19 suggested that purine nucleotide metabolism might be a potential pathway for the in ovo feeding of vitamin C to regulate spleen development. Additionally, the in ovo feeding of vitamin C significantly increased splenic vitamin C content on post-hatch day 21. Meanwhile, the splenic expression of
adenosine deaminase
, serine/threonine kinase 1 and proliferating cell nuclear antigen were down-regulated, whereas the expression of cysteinyl aspartate specific proteinase 9 was up-regulated in VC group. On post-hatch day 42, the in ovo feeding of vitamin C significantly down-regulated the splenic expression of
B-cell lymphoma
2, and increased the mRNA level of cysteinyl aspartate specific proteinase 9. The in ovo feeding of vitamin C could regulate the expression of genes related to adenylate metabolism and increased the apoptosis rate in vitro, which consistent with the result in vivo. Together, these results illustrated that the in ovo feeding of vitamin C regulated splenic development and maturation by affecting purine nucleotide metabolism pathway and promoting apoptosis.
