The aim of the current study was to highlight the molecular events triggered by arachidonic acid during oocyte meiotic arrest and resumption at the time of gonadotrophin surge. It should be noted that arachidonic acid release is tightly regulated by Follicle-stimulating and Luteinizing hormones during oocyte development.
