Penile cancer
, albeit an uncommon malignancy, commonly affects men aged between 50 and 70 years, often with a history of predisposing factors such as Bowen's disease or leukoplakia. We describe a case of early invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the penis in a 39-year-old man with no history of predisposing factors, treated by a partial glansectomy.

Background
: Hungarys's estimated cervical cancer mortality was 6.9/100,000 in 2012, above the average of the EU27 countries (3.7/100,000) in the same year. Since 2014, the bivalent HPV vaccine has been offered to schoolgirls aged 12-13. (2)
Methods
: We conducted a cross-sectional study among 1022 high school seniors (492 girls, 530 boys) in 19 randomly selected schools in Budapest. Our anonymous questionnaire contained 54 items: basic socio-demographic data, knowledge about HPV infection/cervical cancer and HPV vaccination. (3)
Results
: 54.9% knew that HPV caused cervical cancer, and 52.1% identified HPV as an
STD
. Knowledge of risk factors such as promiscuity (46.9%) and early sexual activity (15.6%) was low, but higher than that of further HPV-induced diseases: genital warts (in females 9.9%, in males 9%), anal cancer (in females 2.2%, in males 1.9%),
penile cancer
(9.4%), and vulvar cancer (7.8%). A percentage of 14.6% feared getting infected, and 35.7% supported compulsory HPV vaccination. A percentage of 51.2% would have their future children vaccinated-significantly more girls than boys. (4)
Conclusion
: Our results support the findings of previous studies about young adults' HPV-related knowledge, which was poor, especially regarding pathologies in men. Despite the low level of awareness, the students' attitude was mostly positive when asked about vaccinating their future children.

The incidence of penile squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) varies widely in different parts of the world. It is rare in Western countries but common in developing countries like India. The glans and foreskin are the most commonly affected sites. It can occur in two forms which have different evolution and prognosis. Exophytic papillary lesions have late and rare lymphatic spread and ulcero-infiltrating lesions are associated with rapid lymph node invasion and a poorer prognosis. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is an aggravating factor for
penile cancer
and accelerates the progression of the disease. Cutaneous metastasis from penile SCC is rarely reported. Here, we report a case of metastatic SCC of the penis in a 51-year-old HIV-infected man who presented with cutaneous metastases in the inguino-pubic region with a hidden penile SCC.

A challenge in developing novel strategies for
penile cancer
(PC) is the limited understanding of the regulatory mechanisms involved in PC development. This study aims to examine the expression of SHC SH2 Domain-Binding Protein 1 (SHCBP1) in PC and to explore its oncogenic function. Aberrant SHCBP1 expression was observed in PC tissues compared with normal penile tissues. SHCBP1 expression was significantly associated with the pathological grade, T stage, nodal status, and pelvic lymph node metastasis, and could serve as an independent factor for unfavorable overall survival in PC. Manipulation of SHCBP1 expression affected cell proliferation, soft agar clonogenesis, and cell migration and invasion in PC cell lines. Moreover, we identified STAT3/c-Myc signaling as a potential downstream target of SHCBP1. SHCBP1 interacted with
JAK2
and STAT3 upon EGF stimulation, which might regulate STAT3/c-Myc signaling activation in PC cells. Disruption of STAT3/c-Myc signaling attenuated cell proliferation and cell migration/invasion in PC cell lines. Nevertheless, overexpression of constitutively activated STAT3 or c-Myc rescued cell proliferation and cell migration/invasion caused by SHCBP1 depletion in PC cell lines. Consistently, SHCBP1 depletion attenuated STAT3/c-Myc signaling and suppressed tumor growth in a murine xenograft model. Importantly, correlated expression of SHCBP1, p-STAT3, and c-Myc was observed in PC tissues, confirming the clinical relevance of SHCBP1/STAT3/c-Myc signaling in PC. In conclusion, aberrant SHCBP1 expression could serve as a potential prognostic biomarker for PC. SHCBP1 might activate the STAT3/c-Myc signaling pathway to promote tumor progression in PC, which may serve as a potential target for PC treatment.
