Some histochemical changes in adult C. sinensis collected from rats infected artificially and treated with pyquiton were observed. 1 h after administration the glycogen content showed a slight decrease which became prominent 24h later and almost disappeared at 48h post-medication. There was an increase in protein content in the parenchymal tissues of worms 1h after treatment, especially in the reproductive organ 24h after treatment. RNA content was decreased 1h post administration and continued decreasing gradually so that very little could be seen 48h later. An increase in the activities of SDH, MDH and Ca-ATPase was seen at the beginning and became marked 24h after medication, while that for G-6-PDH was detected 48h after drug administration. No obvious changes in DNA, lipid, AKP, ACP and phenolase were detected within 1-48h after treatment.

Growth inhibition in acid soils due to Al stress affects crop production worldwide. To understand mechanisms in sensitive crops that are affected by Al stress, a proteomic analysis of primary tomato root tissue, grown in Al-amended and non-amended liquid cultures, was performed. DIGE-SDS-MALDI-TOF-TOF analysis of these tissues resulted in the identification of 49 proteins that were differentially accumulated. Dehydroascorbate reductase, glutathione reductase, and catalase enzymes associated with antioxidant activities were induced in Al-treated roots. Induced enzyme proteins associated with detoxification were mitochondrial aldehyde dehydrogenase, catechol oxidase, quinone reductase, and lactoylglutathione lyase. The germin-like (oxalate oxidase) proteins, the malate dehydrogenase, wali7 and heavy-metal associated domain-containing proteins were suppressed. VHA-ATP that encodes for the catalytic subunit A of the vacuolar ATP synthase was induced and two ATPase subunit 1 isoforms were suppressed. Several proteins in the active methyl cycle, including SAMS, quercetin 3-O-methyltransferase and AdoHcyase, were induced by Al stress. Other induced proteins were isovaleryl-CoA dehydrogenase and the GDSL-motif lipase hydrolase family protein. NADPH-dependent flavin reductase and beta-hydroxyacyl-ACP dehydratase were suppressed.

Flavonoids in nature are known to possess various activities such as anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, anticancer, antioxidant, neuroprotective, anti-HIV activities etc., The molecular docking was performed by 26 naturally occurring flavonoids with selected targets COX-2, hydroxyacyl-ACP dehydratase, tyrosinase from Agaricus bisporus, isomaltase from Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Human IkB kinase beta, Human ABC transporter, topoisomerase II, topoisomerase IV, N-myristoyltransferase from Candida albicans, Peptide deformylase from Pseudomonas aeruginosa, polypeptide deformylase from Streptococcus pneumoniae. The analysis was based on docking score, glide energy, interactions type (bond type and distance) and interaction with amino acids. The top 5 flavonoids with best docking score was reported. The in-silico results provided for 26 naturally occurring flavonoid shows that they reduce the risk of inflammation, cancer and infectious disease if people have taken in diet continuously. The provided docking data of flavonoids may be useful to synthesis novel drug candidate for the mentioned targets.
