ASSERT - Project Partners
National Centre for Text Mining (NaCTeM)
NaCTeM is the first publicly-funded text mining centre in the world. They provide text mining services in response to the requirements of the UK academic community. They also make significant contributions to the text mining research community, both nationally and internationally. NaCTeM is providing the text mining expertise to manage and implement the ASSERT project.
Evidence for Policy and Practice Information Centre (EPPI)
The mission of the EPPI-Centre is to collate the results of public policy research in a format that policy-makers, practitioners, academics and other research-users can use to make sensible decisions based on sound evidence. They specialise in systematic research synthesis, a method that attempts to identify research reports on a given topic and to examine them in explicit and standard ways so as to produce accessible, reliable and useful syntheses of research findings.
EPPI-Centre will be providing the main datasets and examples for the ASSERT project and will provide representatives as users of the system to assist in the development of requirements and in the setting of a gold standard of results for the evaluation process.
National Centre for e-Social Science (NCeSS)
The National Centre for e-Social Science (NCeSS) is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) to investigate how innovative and powerful computer-based infrastructure and tools developed over the past five years under the UK e-Science programme can benefit the social science research community. This infrastructure is commonly known as the 'Grid'.
Based upon years of experience and development activities, NCeSS will be providing advice for evaluation and usability support during its collaboration with the ASSERT project.
